100 years football
FIFA CENTENNIAL - PROGRAMME OF EVENTS
FIFA celebrates its Centennial in 2004 - 100 years "For the Good of the Game"
The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is commemorating its Centennial with a variety of activities throughout 2004 to pay tribute to the universality of football and honour people and places of historic importance to the "beautiful game". All festivities acknowledge the cultural, social and educational aspects of football as well as the huge commitment of the world football's governing body. The locations of the FIFA`s Centennial celebrations reflect football's globality: England (the country that created the Laws of the Game and exported the game to the world), France (FIFA's birthplace), Uruguay (the host nation of the inaugural FIFA World Cup™ in 1930) and Switzerland (FIFA's home for over 70 years). Here is an overview of the most important fixtures in FIFA's season of centennial celebrations:
NTPSA
NTPSA is a non-profit adult men sports organization serving Dallas and the seven surrounding counties in North Texas. Organized in 1974 as a combination of two leagues, NTPSA has grown over the last 25 years to 5,000+ players annually in 4 age groupings:
open - over 30 - over 40 - over 50
Served by a volunteer board of eight elected officers, twenty appointed Division Commissioners and one paid General Manager, NTPSA registers and schedules teams in two playing seasons. Divisions are formed of teams with similar skill level who play a ten game schedule to determine four playoff spots for a seasonal end tournament. Finalists are awarded team and individual awards. Promotion and relegation of teams is based on seasonal and post seasonal results. NTPSA boasts of state, regional and National Cup Champions and is a proud member of North Texas State Soccer Association, United States Amateur Soccer Association and the United States Soccer Federation.
